Why other people get involved…

“For me, it was the desire to play an active role in the web development community. Being new to the Internet profession, I like the benefits of helping to shape a like-minded organization.”

“I value the opportunity to develop teamwork and leadership skills through my involvement, skills that I believe are important to both employers and self-employed professionals.”

“I became involved to learn about current practices in the local web development industry. What I enjoy most about the events is having extremely bright people share their consistently interesting and relevant knowledge with us.”

“The rewards of serving on the Board of Directors include working as a team with people I wouldn’t otherwise get a chance to know, stretching my skills into new areas, and seeing good practices and procedures implemented.”

“I became involved when I realized my work environment had become too insular, and I was not connecting personally with other developers and organizations. In SCWD, I see the potential for local connections that are long lasting, connections that give each of us a higher quality experience in our lives as web professionals.”

“This group offers a connection with a wide variety of web based professionals and students who can help each other grow their careers and businesses.”

“When I moved to Santa Rosa, I wanted to meet web development people, I wanted to keep informed, and I wanted to keep active. When I discovered SCWD, I was glad to have such an organization in my own backyard. I’m glad I found this group with great ideas and great people.”

“I became involved to have a greater interaction with professionals in the field from which I could learn more about the business side of web development, and to expand my network of contacts and possible clients. The experience ha been gratifying, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to play an important role in redesigning the organization’s website.”

“I value this group as a resource. I do not have a job which allows me to do web development right now, and this organization gives me the opportunity to keep in touch with the latest.”
